Sekidosan Museum

Sekidosan Museum is a place where you can deepen knowledge and understanding of the history and culture of Mt. Sekidosan. It also serves as a visitor center for the Noto Historical Park (Sekidosan area). Please feel free to visit.

Exhibits

About 70 historical materials, including Buddhist statues, Buddhist implements, illustrations, and old documents, which have been preserved and handed down mainly in the mountain area for more than 100 years since its demolition in the Meiji era (1868-1912), are on display. Visitors can learn about the history of Mt. Sekidosan.

Main Exhibits

・Old illustrated map of the precincts of Mt. Sekidosan on paper (designated painting by the town) ※A replica is located on the wall of the concourse of the Lifelong Learning Center “Lapia Kashima”.
・Wooden standing statue of the eleven-faced Kannon (town-designated sculpture)
・Wooden seated statue of Kobo Daishi (town-designated sculpture)
