Nanao Castle Museum

The museum exhibits daily utensils, tenmoku bowls, crystal five-ring pagoda-shaped pottery, and a standing statue of Shakyamuni Buddha in the Seiryoji style engraved with copper plates, as well as the castle lord’s favorite sword, long spear, mother-of-pearl inlay saddle, and other armory items, and letters from the castle lord.
Visitors can also get an idea of the scale of Nanao Castle by viewing the restored CG images in the museum.

OtherA stamp of the 100 Great Castle in Japan (Nanao Castle) is available.
It is located under the eaves of the main entrance and can be used even when the museum is closed.
The 100 Great Castles stamp is also located in the lobby of the main entrance on the 1st floor of the main office of Nanao City Hall.
On Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, and during the year-end and New Year’s holidays, the stamp is placed in front of the security office on the first floor of the City Hall main building. Please note that the service hours at City Hall are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.
Holders of a Physical Disability Certificate, Rehabilitation Certificate, or Mental Disability Certificate are eligible for free admission. The admission fee will be fully reduced or exempted upon presentation of the certificate. The admission fee for one accompanying person will be reduced as well. The same reduction applies to the admission fee of one accompanying person.
