Fudotaki Falls
This 20-meter waterfall cascades down from Miho no Mine in Ida, and is said to have been opened by Taicho Daishi, who is believed to have founded Mt. Hakusan. Originally named “Kumano Falls,” it is said to have been called “Fudotaki Falls” because a statue of Fudo is enshrined next to the basin of the waterfall, and Fudo Hall was built nearby. The waterfall is said to cure eye diseases and headaches, and many believers gather here on July 5, when the waterfall is opened. In summer, it is popular as a cool summer retreat.
